GroundWork has a strong track record in solar station installation, maintenance and data analysis having successfully completed numerous solar monitoring station deployments.
GroundWork is instrumental in assisting the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) with the implementation of its Solar Resource and Meteorological Assessment Project (SOLRMAP) program on behalf of our clients. We work closely with NREL to ensure compliance with the most recent industry standards. GroundWork is uniquely positioned with the experience and knowledge to carry out the intricate, turnkey installation processes, as well as the ability to maintain and analyze the associated data output.
We help our clients design a station given their solar technology selection: PV or CSP/CPV. Our stations quantify the solar global, direct (DNI), and diffuse irradiance for solar photovoltaic (PV) and concentrating solar power (CSP/CPV) system simulation and performance monitoring.
We have extensive experience with Kipp & Zonen SOLYS 2; Irradiance Rotating Shadowband Radiometers (RSR); Campbell Scientific dataloggers; and a variety of communications equipment. We have an impressive breadth of knowledge of popular sensors, such as Kipp and Zonen, RM Young, Vaisala, Campbell Scientific and Licor.
GroundWork has a robust maintenance and monitoring program to meet the rigorous maintenance protocols for solar monitoring stations. We find, hire, train, and supervise skilled local technicians in remote areas to provide this service.
